Obscure 80s Bands
in Culture
I've noticed recently how many bands on both sides of the Atlantic are turning to the 80s for inspiration and this is no more evident than with the latest offerings by Keane and even Killers - their mega-single Human lifting melodies and keyboards riffs from groups such as OMD, The Pet Shop Boys, The Cars and even Aha. While we're all familiar with these huge acts, there were many who were overlooked, as is always the case, irrespective of decade or fad. This group intends to resurrect those unsung heroes and find out what they really had to offer viz-a-vis those that had chart success and went on to greater things.

The Monks - Bad Habits Created at 12:00am, 12th Dec 2008 I loved this album which produced a few singles, most notably Drugs in my Pocket (a spoof on punk rock), the politically incorrect Nice Legs Shame About The Face which was a surprise #19 hit single and the song Johnny B. Rotten. Technically this song was released in 1979 but had extensive airplay in 1980 as well. Does anyone know more about this band? PS Loved the album cover!!!
